The Jiangmen rare-earth project uses multiple filter presses for solid-liquid separation within a mineral-processing environment. The site photographs show parallel presses, large process tanks, extensive piping, filtrate outlets, and a sheltered operating area designed around repeated batch filtration.
Rare-earth processing can create mineral slurries and precipitated solids that require careful recovery or dewatering. The filtration system must provide controlled cake formation while using materials and operating procedures appropriate for the actual process chemistry.
Project Overview
Mineral-Processing Application
Pressure filtration is used in mineral processing to separate valuable solids, intermediate products, or treatment residues from liquid. The correct plate, cloth, pump, and contact-material selection depends on slurry composition, particle size, temperature, pH, and the plant’s recovery objective.
Multi-Press Installation
The project images show several presses arranged in parallel. This layout gives the facility flexibility to coordinate separate filtration cycles and maintain access for cloth inspection, plate cleaning, and routine maintenance. Large tanks positioned near the presses support feed preparation and process storage.
Filter Press System
Plate Pack and Piping
Each press contains a long series of chamber plates. Slurry enters the closed plate pack through the feed system, filtrate passes through the cloth, and solids remain in the chambers. The visible manifold and outlet arrangement helps operators monitor filtrate behavior across the press.
Process Compatibility
For rare-earth and chemical-mineral duties, equipment compatibility requires a review of all wetted components. Plates, cloths, pumps, valves, seals, and piping must suit the slurry and cleaning method. Process testing is valuable when particles are fine, compressible, or sensitive to chemical conditioning.
Installation and Operation
Accessible Parallel Layout
The space between the presses provides a working route for operating and maintenance teams. Access is important because operators must inspect plate alignment, clean sealing surfaces, replace cloths, and check for uneven cake formation. The sheltered structure also protects equipment while allowing ventilation and service clearance.
Cycle Control
A repeatable cycle balances filling, pressure filtration, optional auxiliary steps, plate opening, and cake discharge. Operators should track pressure, filtrate flow, cycle duration, cake appearance, and cloth-cleaning frequency. Trend data makes it easier to distinguish a process change from a mechanical issue.

Project Value
The installed presses provide a structured solid-liquid separation stage for the Jiangmen facility. Parallel equipment supports production planning and maintenance flexibility, while the manifold arrangement allows close observation of each cycle. Final performance is governed by the actual slurry, conditioning method, cloth specification, and operating
